Geneva "Joyce" Olson

Geneva "Joyce" Olson (85) of Winfield, IL, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Joyce was born in Newbern, TN on April 19, 1940, to parents Henry and Clara Ruth Simmons. Caring sister of Danny Simmons, and the late James Simmons. She was loving spouse to her late husband Richard "Dick" Olson of 27 years. Joyce was a devoted mother of 3 daughters, Sherry (Crete) Kasee, Kimberly (Kenny) Barr, and Tricia (Keith) Brown. She was blessed to have 12 grandchildren, Joy (David), Ashley, Cassidy (Mike), Eddie, Lauryn, Dylan, Brandon, Josh, Spike, Sierra, Tiffany, and Amber. 18 great grandchildren Christian, Nathan, Johnathan, Lil Eddie, Rilev, Hailee, Jaime, Gia, Selena, Brandon, Braxton, Aubrey, Ezra, Trinity, Taylor, Tifffany, Chase, and Lyric. As well as 2 great-great grandchildren, Zay and Zamira. Joyce was once crowned Miss Chicago in 1957, was a devout Christian, and loved watching her Chicago Bears. She will be laid to rest Friday January 9, 2026. Visitation will be held at Northlake Funeral Home in Northlake, IL from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
